Puyallup drains Bonney Lake

Puyallup got off to a fast start Thursday afternoon against a vastly improved Bonney Lake squad and earned a 12-5 victory over the Panthers to run its record to 7-0.The Vikings used three goals from Paige Boyer and another from Joanna Boschee' to jump on the Panthers 4-0 after a quarter. While Boyer had the offense under control, Alex Clark was sharp in the cage giving up just one goal in the first half. Hope Mahnken and Katie Hayes was also working hard defensively as they had their hands full with Bonney Lake's double hole set. Boschee' added two hard earned goals in the second quarter against the Panther goalie who dominated the shallow end goal. Her two scores gave the Viks a 6-1 halftime lead. With the Bonney Lake goalie struggling in the deep water, Puyallup rang up four scores in the third quarter. Naomi Smith scored on a fast break pass from Boyer and Brenda Pogue gunned down back to back scores off outlet passes from Clark. Boyer closed out the scoring with a goal with 49 seconds left in the stanza. Boyer and Bianca Jimenez took care of the scoring honors in the fourth quarter with a goal apiece.
